VMX: Veterinary Meeting & Expo (formerly the NAVC Conference) is quickly approaching and will be held in Orlando, Florida, February 3-7, 2018. VMX is to veterinary professionals what tennis balls are to retrievers. So, what’s all the hype about? There are many reasons you should be excited about VMX this year. Here are five:

#1: It’s not snowing in Orlando

Like the puppy in the GIF above, you’ll be excited to arrive in Orlando. Unlike the GIF above, there will be no snow on the ground when you get there.

#2: It’s one of the largest gatherings of your veterinary peers in the country

This veterinary conference has traditionally been one of the largest. How many opportunities will you have to gather in the same place with more than 17,000 of your veterinary profession and industry friends? (Disclaimer: You probably won’t remember the names of everyone you met at last year’s conference. That’s OK. Just do your best.)

#3: It’s one of the largest gatherings of veterinary product and service companies in the country

Need a new website? Check.

Hope to learn more about the dog flu vaccine? Check. Check.

Want to know why everyone is raving about the new Feliscratch? Check. Check. Check.

At VMX, you’ll have the opportunity to peruse an exhibit hall with more than 700 exhibiting companies featuring their latest and greatest tools designed to make your life as a veterinary professional that much better.

#4: You’ll do a lot more than learn

With a killer lineup of events, VMX is sure to be fun for everyone.

On Saturday, don’t miss Michael J. Fox at the General Session and Jeff Corwin at the Opening Ceremony. Start Sunday off right by running the 5K, and then end it on a slightly different note at the “Big Game” Event. You won’t want to miss the Concert Series featuring Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas on Monday night, all the awesome receptions held throughout the conference, and the Finale Party on Wednesday evening. So, put on your dancin’ shoes and have a ball with your veterinary friends!

#5: Tracy Dowdy (that’s me!) will be speaking

Not to toot my own horn or anything… OK, well maybe I’ll toot my own horn just a little bit… I’m so honored to speak at VMX this year! Here’s where you’ll be able to find me during the meeting:
